What is in it?

Fifteen ingredients, listed in full: Alcohol Denat, Butyl Acetate, Heptane, Nitrocellulose, Tosylamide/Epoxy Resin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Polyvinyl Butyral, Triphenyl Phosphate, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, N-Butyl Alcohol, Camphor, Formaldehyde, Benzophenone-1, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, CI 60725 (Violet 2). The wheat protein is a minor ingredient; if you have a wheat allergy, do not use this.

How does the yellow actually go?

CI 60725 is a light corrective coloring, and it sits opposite yellow on the color wheel. On a stained nail it cancels the yellow instead of painting over it, which is why the result reads clean and clear rather than opaque or tinted. It is the same principle a color corrector uses, and it happens as the coat dries.

Can I wear it under polish?

Yes. Worn on its own it reads as a clear, natural nail with the yellow cancelled. Under polish, note that during the fourteen-day course everything comes off every third day, so a manicure over it lasts two days. Most people run the course bare and use it as a base coat afterwards, on the once-or-twice-a-week schedule.

How long before I see anything?

Two of the three jobs are done in about a minute: the film sets hard and glossy and the yellow is cancelled. The hardening is the fourteen-day course, and you judge that at the end of it.
